Every October (Breast Cancer Awareness Month) my favorite charity, B4BC teams up with CCS to make a line of tees to benefit the charity. They're always amazingly designed and fun; and the best part is that when you buy one, all the money goes to a radddddd cause! I posted my faves above, you can check out the whole line here.
I love the illustrations of Maxwell Dorsey. I found his cards while shopping at the little stores in Rehoboth Beach, DE. However, I couldn't find much info about him online. Nonetheless, his illustrations are fun and colorful. They're kind of like little puzzles you have to read to figure out. I also adore his hand done type. It's so simple, yet so perfect!
My favorite philly-artist, Leanne Biank is having a solo show at Liberty Boards (on 7th between Chestnut and Market) on October 5th from 7-10pm. Leanne's work is amazing. The characters she creates in her paintings are as unique as they are lovable. Her work has the perfect mix of intricate prints, perfectly detailed faces, and abstract concepts. Even if you're not a Philly local, you should take the time to come down and see Leanne's show. You will fall in love!
Volcom just updated their website with pics of their whole 07/08 Snow Line. I remember not being super excited about it when I saw it at the trade show, but there are some great cuts, awesome patterns, and fun detailing. However, I really love their snow accessories. Especially their beanies! Fun little woven patterns and vintage inspired styles. I can't wait to cover up my frizzy hair days with these cute little wintery hats!
Obviously I'm a sucker for when 2 things I love are combined into one. However, I think this is the cutest combo ever! I love mosaics and I love cupcakes, so I definitely almost fainted when I came upon these adorable Cupcake Mosaics. Ok, so the website isn't the fanciest, but Michelle Legler, the Mosaic Queen creates the most amazing things from pieces of old china, vintage jewelry and glass. I am in love and want 19 of the for Christmas!
Billabong Girls just announced the launch of their 2007 Holiday Line! They have a ton of fun graphic tees as well as a huge amount of awesome accessories! Yet another reason I want it to be winter... RIGHT NOW!
I found the lovely Black Apple Shop while searching for cupcake inspiration on etsy today. I adore her sugary sweet illustrations of little girls and porcupines. Not only are her creations beautiful, Emily also has her own blog where she posts art, inspirations, and other yummy treats.
On Deck is an art auction created in 2005 by the Missoula Skatepark Association as a way to raise money for the construction and on-going maintenance of Missoula's MOBASH skatepark.
Every year, the MSA receives donations of blank skateboards that the distributor cannot sell due to imperfections. The MSA sends those boards out to artists around the country. Each artist customizes the blank deck using whatever medium they choose, and then sends it back to the MSA by a given deadline. Once photos are taken of the completed decks, they are uploaded to the MSA's Web site and the online segment of the auction begins. After being online for a certain length of time, usually around two weeks, online bidding is turned off. At that point, all of the bids are transferred to a live art show / auction held at a gallery in Missoula, Montana where bidding continues until a specified time.
There are some very awesome decks in this auction with amazingly unique visual treatments! Be sure to check out the auction and bid on some beautiful art for a great cause. This one happens to be my mom's favorite. (wink).
My BFF snowboard mag, 'Snowboard Mag' put my little glove on their Buyer's Guide cover. I designed the leafy pattern and script on this glove for Grenade. The pattern can also be found on a jacket and pants. Once I get my hand on this actual issue I'll be sure to post more! Highlight of my day!!! yay yay!
